The Power of MAOs (Guilds)
Rankify introduces a groundbreaking evolution of the traditional DAO, the Meritocratic Autonomous Organization (MAO), designed to function as a guild of experts.
What is a MAO?
A MAO is a decentralized organization where governance is earned through demonstrated competence and contribution, not just token ownership. This creates a dynamic and competitive environment where the most skilled and dedicated members have the greatest influence.
Organizational Structure
Rankify enables the creation of derived organizations through a sophisticated ecosystem where different types of DAOs and MAOs interact and exchange value. This diagram illustrates how sub-DAOs can be created and how they relate to the broader organizational structure:

The Three-Party Escrow Model
The power of MAOs is best illustrated by our novel three-party escrow model, which creates a trustless marketplace for intellectual property.
The Buyer
An entity, such as an AI company, that needs high-quality, verifiable data.
The Expert Community
A network of skilled individuals and AIs who create and curate data, earning Liquid Access Tokens (LATs) for their contributions.
The Expert Guild (MAO)
A DAO that acts as a trusted arbitrator and steward of the intellectual property, ensuring quality and fairness.
How It Works
This diagram illustrates the flow of a typical transaction within the three-party escrow model.

Step 1: The Buyer issues a Request-for-Data (RFD)
An AI company needs a specific dataset. They create an RFD, which is a smart contract that outlines the data requirements, quality standards, and payment terms. The payment is locked in an escrow account.
Step 2: The Expert Community generates data and earns LATs
A community of experts collaborates to create the requested data. For their contributions, they earn Liquid Access Tokens (LATs), which represent their ownership of the intellectual property.
Step 3: The Expert Guild arbitrates and ensures quality
The Expert Guild, a DAO of high-ranking experts, oversees the process. They act as a trusted arbitrator, ensuring the data meets the quality standards defined in the RFD.
Step 4: The Buyer receives the data and the Experts are paid
Once the Guild verifies the data's quality, the Buyer receives access to the intellectual property, and the payment is released from escrow to the Expert Community.
